Here is the inspiration behind the Black Iris Publishing LogoIn searching I have found many pictures of the Black Iris on the internet. I learned for instance that it is Jordan's national flower. It has always been my favorite flower from childhood. My mother grew them & as the years went by they became lighter & lighter. This is a natural occurence. They are often very dark when they first bloom, but over the years, the darkness fades. The photo to the right is an example of a bearded Iris. It is so called because of the fuzzy little line of stuff that grows on the lower blooms. They're the beards.
